How to send emails from a Group address

Make use of a group address for sending Email

As a Google Workspace user, we can use a Group Email address to send emails. So that we can use both the workspace email and also the Group email address for sending Emails. It will make use of the group email addresses as well.


Steps for sending Emails using Group address:

Step 1: On your computer, open Gmail.

Step 2: In the top right, click Settings   >>  See all settings.

Step 3: Click the Accounts >> "Send mail as" section, 

   

   Step 4:  Click Add another email address.

  

   Step 5: Enter your name and the Group address to which you want to send from. 

   

   Step 6: Click Next Step >>  Send verification ( Please note that the verification code will be shared with every member in the group)

   

Step 7: Add the verification code and verify it.


To check the verification code:

  • Sign in to the groups.google.com
  • Open the confirmation message you got from Gmail.

  • Copy the code and paste it into the verification box.

Step 8: Click on Add account

Step 9: Change the "From" address while composing an Email

-> In the message, click the "From" line.
(If you don't see this, click the space next to the recipient's email.)

-> Select the Group address to send from.

Tip: If you get a bounce email from a valid email address and need to reverify it, you must delete the "Send mail as" email address and then add it again.
