How to restore the user data?

Restore user data

If you have accidentally deleted an email or dive data, you can restore it within 30 days by going to the Trash folder and selecting the email/files . Click the "Move to" button and select the desired folder.


  • For up to 30 days, we can restore Gmail data from the trash folder directly by flowing the below steps
  1. Open Gmail: Go to the Gmail website and sign in to your account.
  2. Go to the Trash folder: In the left-hand panel, click on "Trash" to open the Trash folder.
  3. Select emails to restore: Check the boxes next to the emails you want to move back to the Inbox. If you want to restore all emails in the Trash folder, click the checkbox at the top to select all.
  4. Click the "Move to" button: Click the "Move to" button at the top of the page.



  5. Choose the Inbox folder: Select "Inbox" from the drop-down menu. Confirm the action: Click "OK" to confirm the action.
  6. The selected emails will be moved from the Trash folder to the Inbox.

  • After 30 days, the message has been permanently deleted from the trash, to recover this permanently deleted data admin has time 25 more days to do, Please follow the below steps to restore the data.
  1. Sign in to your Google Admin Console using your administrator account credentials.
  2. Click on the "Users" icon from the dashboard.
  3. Search for the user account that you need to recover the data.
               
  4. Point to the user and click More options > “Restore data”
               
  5. Select the date range for the data that you want to recover and choose the type of data you want to restore (Gmail, Drive, Contacts, etc.).

               
  6. Click on "Restore" to start the restoration process.

    NOTE: Check the user’s Gmail inbox/Drive folder to confirm the data is restored. After you restore an item in Drive, the user needs to reshare the item for others to have access. we can't restore data that was permanently deleted for more than 25 days.
