How to save incoming messages sent to non-existent or incorrect email addresses in your domain.
Set up a catch-all address
A catch-all address ensures that messages sent to an incorrect email address for a domain are still received, we can set up a routing rule for the same.
- From the Google workspace admin console, go to Apps
- This will open up Google Workspace, then select Gmail
- This will open the Gmail settings, and from that select Routing
- Click on the Routing and select Add another Rule
Here we are going to create a new email routing rule
Follow the below steps on creating the new routing rule
1) Give a routing Name
2) Select Inbound
3) For the above type of message do the following> Select Modify message
4)Check the Change Envelope Recipient box
5)Select the Replace Recipient option and enter the catch-all address to which you want these emails to be routed.
6) Scroll down and click on show options
7) Under (B) Account types to affect Check the unrecognized/catch-all box, and make sure the Users and Groups boxes are unchecked
8) (Optional) To apply this setting only to senders or recipients that you specify:
- Under the Envelope filter, check one or both boxes.
- Click the menu
and select an option for matching sender and recipient addresses.
- Enter an email address, pattern, or group to match.
- Repeat for all senders and recipients.
9) Click on SAVE.
