How to forward an email using Email routing?

If a user comes with a requirement that for all of their incoming email, one copy should go to any other email account as well.

As administrators, we can configure an email routing rule which will help the user to route the email to their required account as well.

Please find the below steps for Inbound email, all inbound emails to the mentioned address (in the address list), and one copy should be going to a specific email address.

    • From the Google Workspace Admin console, go to Apps
  • This will open up Google Workspace, then select Gmail
  • This will open the Gmail settings, and from that select Routing

  • Click on the Routing and select Add another Rule

Here we are going to create a new email routing rule

Follow the below steps on creating the new routing rule

1) Give a routing Name

2) Select Inbound and Internal receiving

3) For the above type of message do the following> Select Modify message

4) Select Also deliver to> Check the box add more recipient

5) Click on add and give the recipient address to whom one email copy should be routed.

6) Come down and click on show options

7) Under (A) Address list, select, and check the box Use address lists to bypass or control the application of this setting

8) Select Only apply this setting for specific addresses/domains

Here we are using specific addresses/ domains, which means if any emails come from these mentioned domains/addresses that are listed in the address list, one copy will be going to the mentioned email account.

9) Create an address list by selecting create or edit list, and add the desired Email addresses and Domains to the Address List

10) Come back to the routing and select Use existing list.

And select the Address list that you created earlier

11) Click on SAVE.
